Discover the Tropical Resort of Guayabitos
One of the attributes that make the Riviera Nayarit so special is the distinct differences between its various beach towns, each with something unique that appeals to anyone. Rincon de Guayabitos is one of them: a small resort town of about 3,000 multicultural residents just 25 minutes north of Sayulita, 5 minutes north of Los Ayala, and 5 minutes south of La Penita de Jaltemba on Highway 200 with an atmosphere well suited for a relaxing trip or family vacation.

Before the resort town was born, Guayabitos (as it is called) was a secluded beach cove surrounded by lush tropical fields. Recognized for its beauty by the Mexican government, this small resort town began development in 1970 for middle-class tourism.
Today, the town is a delightful, peaceful hideaway on Bahia Jaltemba Bay with its beautiful Playa Guayabitos beach that has easy access from the main street. Labeled as the swimming pool of the Pacific Ocean, it is one of the nicest, safest beaches in the region for swimming. Ocean conditions here are also ideal for kayaking, fishing, whale-watching, and other beach activities.
Built along the main street, Avenida del Sol Nuevo, which parallels the beach, Guayabitos is split into the zona hotelera or hotel zone, to the south (left), and the residential zone, to the north (right), which offers some Bed & Breakfasts and vacation rentals.
The hotel zone has everything, such as affordable hotels and RV parks, condos and bungalows, gift and jewelry shops, grocery stores and pharmacies, snacks and tacos, beachwear and sandals, Mexican handicrafts and art, restaurants and bars… and everything else under the sun.
