Just south of Bucerias is the resort town of Nuevo Vallarta with its beautiful hotel-lined beach. Playa Nuevo Vallarta is a long, wide beach with soft golden sand and clear ocean water, calm currents and a gradual slope, making it safe for swimming and ideal for families with small children. Located along the Pacific Ocean’s Bahia Banderas Bay, this peaceful, 3-mile (5-kilometer) beach offers parasailing, jet skiing, snorkeling, boat rides, and a nearby marina with a yacht club and water park that features swimming with dolphins. For those not staying at the resorts, public beach access is located between the Grand Velas and Marival resorts.
