Playa El Borrego
One of the beautiful beaches of San Blas is Playa El Borrego, just a mile south of the town center at the end of the battalion (Calle Heroico Batallon). This long, wide beach is bordered by tall coconut palm trees and has plenty of space. With moderate tides, long low waves, and a soft sand bottom, the ocean is ideal for swimming and surfing. There is a lovely estuary on the south side of the beach, but use bug repellent if venturing out at sunrise and sunset to prevent mosquito and jejen (no-see-um) bites. At the north end of the beach are casual outdoor eateries with palapas and hammocks to relax the afternoon away.
