Let Go and BE FREE

LET GO, IT HELPS CREATE HAPPINESS
With all of the dysfunction, stress, and imbalance going on around the globe we certainly could use a bit more happiness in our hearts. Through my work facilitating balance in others; my therapy practice is all about letting go, regeneration, and remembering. When we have feelings and thoughts that hold lower vibrations, such as jealousy, fear, anger or judgment, I have found that there are usually beliefs that go along with these feelings.
Here are some tips about what to LET GO of to create a happier you! We are all told that happiness is a choice, but when we are bogged down with negative thoughts, emotions, and fears we have a difficult time recognizing happiness when it’s right in front of us.  How can we get out of our own way? Try giving up these things listed below to leave your mind and life and allow the happiness and joy in. It’s a terrific exchange!
Are you Ready to Let Go?

Let Go of Worry.
Where thoughts go, the energy flows. Worrying is investing time and energy in something you don’t want to create. This is usually concerned with the future. This is counter-intuitive. Think and Feel what you want to happen. Learn to let go and trust. Stay in the present moment; after all, this is all we really have.  This is where your creative power is.

Let Go of Gossiping. Consider this: 100 percent of the time, those sharing gossip with you will most likely be gossiping about you. When you believe what other people tell you about someone is being naive. It’s usually negative and brings out the worst in everyone. Ask yourself, “Are you wishing someone unwell?” Because if you are, that is the energy you’re feeding yourself, and actually wishing yourself unwell.

Let Go of what Other People Think of You.
Spending time worrying about what other people think is a waste of energy. You are never going to please everyone and it’s none of your business what others think of you. You may think people are thinking about you, however, most of the time this is not true. Honestly, no one really cares or watches you that closely. People are generally too busy thinking about themselves. Let go of this insecurity. Begin by noticing how YOU feel. Let go of what other people think and live your life to the most authentic self you can be. You will become amazed at how much happiness this will allow into your life.

Let Go of Trying to Please Everyone.
Unless you are living life to the beat of your own drum, your tribe will not be able to find you! Everyone has taken on beliefs from our parents, teachers, pastors, and society, that really do not have anything to do with our authentic selves. Some beliefs can also be brought in with movies and books. Our parents, for example, did the best they could and taught you what had been handed down to them, and how they perceived life to be. When you strive to be the best version of YOU that you can be, you will naturally attract in the people that are supposed to surround you. This definitely creates more happiness! What JOY!

Let Go of Taking Things Personally.
You have probably heard someone tell you, “The world does not revolve around  you.” Actually, it does, but we tend to let the outside world inside. When we have a “reaction” we are experiencing our issues in accordance to what is happening around us, much like a mirror.

This is very different from choosing how to respond. Other people’s “reactions” have absolutely nothing to do with you, as it’s their mirror or stuff. When someone goes off, instead of taking it personally, allow yourself to simply observe and realize that it’s just not about you!..and vice versa!

Let Go of the Past. This is probably the most challenging to let go of, yet absolutely the most rewarding. We have all been hurt, and all of us have been through “hell”… and back again! We have all had parents that made mistakes when we were growing up. We have unconsciously allowed beliefs in from our parents, teachers, religions, television, books, and society, which draw in more of those vibrational experiences.  Most of the neural pathway patterns in the brain are created by the age 6 and become more embedded as we get older. Make the decision NOW to let go of the past. The past will come up as memories. As a suggestion, when this happens, simply notice beauty, such as a flower or another beautiful thing in your life. You do not need to process the past, as you have already done this, and most likely, quite a bit! Breathe, and continue on your day. Do not feed it any energy. It will release.

When you focus your Attention on your Intention by choosing what you want to let in you can begin to change the neural pathways. Your mind only knows what it knows, and it does not know what it does not know. Begin to tell your mind something different and stop listening and allowing the old voices in your head (your rational mind) to continue to lead your experiences and feelings in life.
LET GO of the past. It feels wonderful!

Letting Go of the anger, fear, control, resentment, and the clutter in our lives allows the space for our lives to flow. Holding on to lower vibrational emotions takes up room in our bodies. It creates rigidity in your body and also ages you. Allow this to move out once and for all and allow the happiness and joy to surface and shine through. This is known as FREEDOM.

The more you can let go of lower vibrational patterns the happier you shall become.

Let go to create Joy and happiness!

Community Service on the Riviera Nayarit

Many wonderful people help out with community service on the Riviera Nayarit, and  if there is one thing I love to write about is people that help people by doing community service; paying it forward. Paying it forward is the best way to allow your grace to shine out from within.  This is exactly how these two folks live their lives.
This week I would like to honor Bucerias Mexico residents Harold and Sue Sokolove  for their Riviera Nayarit community service endeavors.
Harold and Sue moved to Bucerias about 10 years ago. Harold and Sue lived in Waco Texas (a small town of 12,000 people) where they resided for 22 years before relocating to Bucerias.  Harold was a USPS mail carrier and Sue worked as an industrial engineer for the M&M Mars Candy Company. Harold was also a volunteer for the Waco Fire Department as well as in Iowa for 17 years.
Sue and Harold had spent many years vacationing in Puerto Vallarta and fell in love with the PV  and Riviera Nayarit area like so many of us have. Harold states, “Retirement meant that we could go anywhere we wanted. We met lots of people who vacationed here at the same time, and who were also planning to move or already had moved here.” Sue says she loves to live here “Because something unexpected always happens.” And isn’t that the truth!
Harold told me that Sue speaks Spanish quite well, however, also commenting that he is too lazy to practice, but can minimally converse because he took a couple of courses from Sean at the former BBCC. (Bucerias Bilingual Community Center in Bucerias.) They were also volunteers in the Waco Texas city government and also volunteered with a major Waco charity bike ride in Texas. The energy of volunteering and paying it forward followed them to Bucerias Mexico.

Harold was the former president of the Amigos de Bucerias, (2006-2008), and the original person for the PEACE adoption table at Mega (the former BBCC). They currently work with the Bucerias Children’s Library, Manos de Amor (Bucerias orphanage), Paraiso Felino Cat Shelter, and help with street repairs and clean-ups in Col. Las Palmas and Dorada, the reforestation project and the monthly Bucerias beach clean-ups. Sue also is a member of the Beta Sigma Phi service sorority.Since their relocation Harold has been a volunteer firefighter/bombero for the Proteccion Civil Bahia de Banderas and the State of Nayarit, as well has Sue from time to time over the years.

Bringing in Medical Supplies
Approximately 5 years ago they met Dianne Deboer who is a Critical Care nurse in a Calgary Canada hospital who had purchased a condo at the Aqua in the Flamingos development Nuevo Vallarta. Harold knew from working with the Proteccion Civil that there was always a need for first aid, medical supplies and equipment for their ambulances. Dianne had explained that she was always throwing away good medical supplies at her hospital. (Which I am sure is standard Canadian protocol.) From that point on Dianne began to bring medical supplies every time she came down and Harold and Sue were able to distribute them to the paramedics of Proteccion Civil, the local hospitals and Centro Salud (health centers), which were very well received. Harold tells me, “On one occasion, I arranged the donation to be covered by a Mexican newspaper reporter. I sent Dianne a copy of the newspaper story and she posted it on the hospital wall. Soon, other nurses were salvaging what would otherwise be thrown away under normal hospital policy.” Over the years, this is how Harold and Sue met the directors of the Proteccion Civil Nayarit.
How do you find a Free Fire Truck?
The current director, Maritn Tapia Miranda contacted them about 3 months ago, explaining that he had a friend in San Hose California who was a retired firefighter who bought and sold used fire trucks. He explained that his friend offered the PCE (Proteccion Civil Estadal) a used fire truck for free and only charging for the equipment that it carries which were the hoses, nozzles, ladders, power generator and other miscellaneous tools. Martin contacted them about “supporting” the campaign to get the fire truck for the newly opened PC base in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, who at the time only had one ambulance and one water tanker. Harold said, “The amount of money he needed was not out-of-line for what he told me came with the fire truck (a 1972 pumper), so after a little discussion we said OK.” Some of the moneys they collected were from people who donate money to them, so in turn can be distributed in lump sums to local community service groups and charities that have projects that need funding. They also received permission from the local Fire Chief to offer fire truck rides as a means to raise more funds for the fire department that were needed to purchase supplies and also for maintenance. It has all come together and the fire truck is now stationed in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and is also available to respond anywhere in the municipality. WOW! This is how you get a fire truck donated!
Harold and Sue keep busy so “We can really enjoy the times when we’re not busy. We have a good time; it keeps us from being bored and we hope it makes the community service organizations more successful.” When they do have time to relax they enjoy going to their newer home of 3 years in Guadalajara. They have some new projects coming up this high season and it will be interesting to see what develops!
Kudos to you, Harold and Sue Sokolove for holding the energy to help others and showing all of us through their example how Riviera Nayarit community service (or no matter where you are) can make a difference in the community. Thank you so much for all you both do for our communities here in Mexico. You are an amazing example of Grace in action.

A New Bucerias Community Farmers Market

There is a new Bucerias community  farmers market in Bucerias this season on the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico.  It’s a bit different due to the fact all of the vendors are Mexican Nationals. The new market is called the Bucerias Monday Mexican Gourmet Market. Click on the photos to go to the photo gallery. Click on the links for more Bucerias information.
Check out the Bucerias Community Calendar for Bucerias community news, events and live music.

The Bucerias Monday Mexican Market
The Bucerias Monday Mexican Market is located at the Bucerias Art Walk Plaza, which has a very convenient Bucerias community location just south of Mark’s Bar and Grill at 62 Lazaro Cardenas. They open at 9am and close about 2ish.
The Market is organized by Christy Ann Beguesse, a long time local of Bucerias. She states, “Our goal is to bring you the best in Mexican Cuisine made from the freshest ingredients in the kitchens of our Mexican neighbors. My hope is that with your support we can assist our neighbors financially and unite the community with a better understanding of the Mexican culture.”

Christy also helps support many fundraisers for food drives for the Bucerias community during the year as well, coordinating with other nonprofit organizations like the John Ozzello Food Bank, and Tercera Edad, the local Bucerias senior center, especially during the hardest month of September. This month is also called “Septhungre”, due to the starvation problems here during that time. Any time you feel like donating foods, they can be dropped off at the Art Walk Plaza.
If you are a local national and would like to get into this market, contact Christy at TheBuceriasArtwalkPlaza@gmail.com .

All of the vendors at the Bucerias Monday Mexican Market are  full time Mexican residents of Bucerias. So many locals struggle through the summer to make ends meet, and of course, not just in Bucerias, but all over the Bahia de Banderas.
This Bucerias community market will continue hopefully into the summer months if there are enough local people to come and purchase products.

Delicious Mexican Cuisine
There are some very delicious foods being prepared at the Bucerias community Monday farmers market. All of the foods are homemade authentic Mexican cuisine. Serving up enchiladas, fruit waters, fresh frozen chickens and ducks as well, along with chicken and duck eggs too!, artisan cheeses, honey, flan, delicious juicy carnitas carved right in front of you with the tacos piled high for only 10 pesos, (delicious with all of the toppings) beef or mushroom empanadas (enjoyed the mushroom!) topped with chimichurri and salsas’ that are cooked fresh and hot at the table, and homemade tamales wrapped in banana leaves.
A woman sells homemade banana muffins and other muffins. These are the largest banana bread muffins I have ever seen. I suppose they are bread loaves, in the shape of a large muffin; I can attest that they are moist and delicious. There is a medicine / herb table as well. In the corner a local Mexican artist with paintings along with the art and crafts that are spread throughout the market makes the ambiance colorful and fun. Out in front by Pacific Boutique Properties is a very nice selection of jewelry at terrific pricing, and delicious nuts…all cooked in front of you, like the delicious sweet caramelized pecans.
Its nice to purchase form the Bucerias community nationals. Living here all year around, I do see the summer struggles. It is a long summer for everyone here on the bay, as most depend on tourists every winter. These folks do know how to live off of the land, having chicken and ducks, gardens and crafts of all kinds. They have learned how to survive (sometimes just barely) and it’s nice that they bring their delicious and authentic Mexican delights every week to the new Monday farmers market. I love all of the markets, another favorite being the huge La Cruz Sunday Market, who also supports many of the local nationals and their businesses.

The products are at Mexican pricing…which means low! When you purchase from these locals, you are sure to know that your money stays here in Mexico, and trickles down to their families. Come on over and check out the new Bucerias Monday Mexican Gourmet Market. I for one had no problem eating my way from booth to booth….Buen Prevecho!

Mexico Airline Pet Update for Puerto Vallarta Airport

U. S. CONSULAR AGENCY PUERTO VALLARTA
PETS IN AIRPLANES POLICY UPDATE

All of us from RivieraNayaritFun and the 7 town websites  covering the Riviera Nayarit   in Mexico hope that this information helps you to fly with pets,  as our pets are so very important to all of us.  They are like our children, and part of our family! We will do our best to help you stay informed. Hope to see you in Mexico on the Beautiful Riviera Nayarit soon! We wish you ease and grace with this endeavor.

This information was received  from the United States Consular Agency. The publication has been reproduced here verbatim to help you discover what you need to do for flying with pets to Mexico.
The General Direction of Agriculture (SAGARPA) has regulated the importation domestic pets [cats and dogs] into Mexico. This Mexican institution has required Mexican Customs to collect a `clean bill of health’ for every pet upon entering the country. To comply with this requirement one of the following may be submitted…

Get a Good Health Certificate from Vet
A recent [within 30 days] certificate of good health issued by a registered US veterinarian [DMV].  To fly with pets to Mexico, this letter must be in the veterinarian’s office letterhead with his or her address, phone number, National Accreditation number, License Number and State of practice. The body of the letter must certified that he or she has inspected the animal and that it appears to be in good health and free of any contagious diseases. The letter should also contain the following information–name of pet, species, breed, age, sex, color and size. It must also mention last date of parasite treatment, viral and rabies vaccinations.

US APHIS Form 7001 http://www.aphis.usda.gov/library/forms/pdf/APHIS7001.pdf. For the APHIS office closest to you visit–http://www.aphis.usda.gov…lth/area_offices/. This form must be completely filled out with your address in the US, the address the pet is going to in Mexico, a certification by a registered veterinarian and an official seal by a USDA Veterinary Services Office. Please note APHIS 7001 forms without the USDA/APHIS/VS seal and veterinarian certification WILL NOT be accepted anymore. T he form is only valid within 30 days of being sealed. Please note that failure to present any of these documents will result in the pet being held up in customs until a registered veterinarian can be called. In addition to paying the Veterinarian’s fee for an airport inspection a wait of several hours can be expected, especially during weekends and holidays.

To fly with your pets you need a recent [within 30 days] certificate of good health issued by a registered Mexican veterinarian [MVZ]. This letter must be in the veterinarian’s office letterhead and mention his or her address and phone number as well as his “Cedula Professional” number. The body of the letter must certified that he or she has inspected the animal and that it appears to be in good health and free of any contagious diseases. The letter should also contain the following information—name of pet, species, breed, age, sex, color and size. It must also mention last date of parasite treatment, viral and rabies vaccinations. Visit the yellow pages website for a list of veterinarians in Puerto Vallarta—
http://www.seccionamarilla.com.mx/Resultados/veterinarias/jalisco/puerto-vallarta.
We had requested further clarification of the last paragraph and were told the following..

The last paragraph is what would happen if somebody came in without either APHIS form or letter from US vet. A Mexican vet would have to be called into the airport to perform an on-site health assessment. It also applies in the case of a brief visit back (within 3 weeks) and forth from Mexico to the US. The passenger can just get a couple of letters from their local vet and use them to get out and back into Mexico.

To fly with your pets is a few more hoops to jump through, but well worth it,  as these new laws will help prevent disease and other issues of the pet population here in Mexico. Many Blessings for your journey!

We thank Dan C. Rios of the United States Consular Agency for providing this information. If you require more information you can contact the consulate via email at pv.consularassist3@prodigy.net.mx.

A New Hospital in La Penita Mexico

This has been long over-due for the La Penita  residents and part time winter residents, and we welcome the new Real Nayar Hospital to the Riviera Nayarit! Since opening to the public the first week of July, 2012, La Peñita’s Real Nayar Hospital has ran smoothly and efficiently. Built and directed by Dr. Roberto Robles Godinez Sr., this cutting-edge facility on the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico is currently offering emergency medical care, basic health care, and surgical services; including a supporting laboratory, pharmacy, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, and personnel to support 15 patient rooms, nursery, and admitting

Hospital Services

At any given time up to five specialists and four nurses are on staff. Emergency services are available with three ambulances, two modern emergency rooms, and a separate admission’s room. Labor and delivery services include one delivery room and supportive care for complications and treatment of infants; a total of nine infants have been delivered as of August 1, 2012. Besides basic medical diagnostic equipment, Real Nayar Hospital is equipped with Computed Tomography (CT scans), X-ray, and sonography machines, as well as medical monitors, life support equipment, and medical laboratory equipment. In addition to services provided, a blood bank is planned to open in the very near future. Currently, the nearest blood bank in the Riviera Nayarit is in San Francisco, otherwise known as San Pancho, located about half-way between La Penita de Jaltemba and Nuevo Vallarta.

On average, the new La Penita hospital is visited by 15 to 20 patients per day, with 2 to 3 admitted overnight. The main clientele so far have been people of the local community, yet this hospital has been designed to accommodate non-nationals as well. According to Paramedic Arturo Gomez Ortiz, no patient will ever be turned away and the hospital will accept international insurance. Most of Real Nayar’s doctors have come from outside the La Penita de Jaltemba, though local doctors can attend their patients.

Hospital Rooms

During a tour of the entire hospital, given by Dr. Roberto Robles Godinez Jr., I was impressed with the cleanliness of every room. There was even toilet paper in the bathrooms! Several of the private in-patient rooms, all located on the second floor, included a private patio with table and chairs, sink and shower, television, and a couch-like bed for the patient’s visitors. An elevator is available for patients and persons with disabilities. These amenities are something I have not seen in Mexico, though I am sure they exist. In addition to the amazing building and services offered, I was surprised by the warmth and friendliness of the entire staff.

As a full time resident of La Penita de Jaltemba, I have had my share of medical issues. With two stays at different hospitals, and assisting friends in the hospital, my experience with the medical care in Mexico has been mostly negative. So, its good to know that the new Hospital Real Nayar in La Penita is here for all of us!

I was reassured that family members would not have to provide 24 hour basic nursing care to the patient, provide basic essentials such as toilet paper and soap, nor run to the pharmacy looking for needed medications that are essential to a patient’s survival. I feel extremely confidant that medical care provided by Real Nayar, located in La Penita de Jaltemba on the Riviera Nayarit, is comparable to the same, if not better than, medical services I have received in the United Sates of America.

Directions to Real Nayar Hospital

Feel free to visit the hospital and say hello to the staff and Doctor Roberto Robles Godinez Jr., specializing in ER, and Dr. Roberto Robles Godinez Sr., (right) who is also Chief of Staff. Real Nayar is located 1 block south of the main avenida and 1 block east of the town plaza on the corner of calles Alfredo V. Bonifil and Bahia de Banderas. The Emergency Room entrance is located on Bahia de Banderas.

Discover the Amazing Riviera Nayarit for your next tropical vacation where the
ocean meets jungle, and move to Mexico for life!

Lots of Fun in Bucerias Mexico

Bucerias is on the south end of the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico, and a perfect place to come for a spring vacation. Spring is a great time to vacation in Mexico, as the hot summer has not yet arrived, and the winter season folks have returned to their other homes so it is not so crowded as it can be in the winter season. The pacific ocean is starting to warm up enough that it is fun for swimming. It is also only 15 minutes away from Sayulita, with only  another 5-10 minutes further to reach San Pancho, as well as about 20 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport making Bucerias a great vacation location.

Here are a few things that you may be interested in checking out while in Bucerias, as well as remembering about donating to the Casa Hogar Orphanage fundraiser.  There is something for everyone in Bucerias on the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico!

Monday Market

Mondays are the day for the Market, or the Spanish word is a Tianguis, and all of the shops have their wares outside of their shops, with delicious foods in the many restaurants, or perhaps a cut mango on a stick. There are blankets, shells, art work, clothing,  jewelry and just about anything you can think of!

Click on these links to see more photos! On the South side of the walking bridge you will find many more restaurants and art galleries, glass shops and other galleries like the Winged Iguana Gallery, which has lots of Katrina’s and al kinds of different things to check out!

All up and down the boulevard and the Malacon you will find exactly what you are looking for, along with plenty of Bucerias restaurants to choose from for lunch and a beer or margarita.

Thursday Art Walk

Thursday evenings starting at 7:00pm you can stroll around town for the Art Walk, checking out all of the wonderful art galleries filled with paintings and sculptures and more.

Music Under the Stars

There is also an evening of classical guitar music under the stars at the Biblioteca Rey Nayar, which is under the umbrella of the Association Bahia de Banderas Cultural A.C.  This event will be on April 18th at 6:00pm in the garden of Rita and Oliver Kollock, located at 232 Carmen Serdan, Bucerias. This event will be featuring Rigoberto Mora and his students.  There is no charge for the event, however you will be asked to dontate to the library. Please RSVP at bibliobucerias@gmail.com to ensure your seating, as last week was sold out!

Casa Hogar Orphanage

The association of Manos de Amor pro Bahia, a.c. is a nonprofit organization that was created from the desire of a group of citizens of Bucerias to help the less fortunate, especially the children of Bahia de Banderas. It was formed on April 13, 2004.
The main project of this group was to construct an orphanage in Bucerias, and Casa Hogar was created.
The construction of the orphanage began on January 24, 2008 mainly due to a family in California who donated 15,000.00 (US) that enabled them to buy the adjoining lot to the one that was already purchased. The building is now completed and the children have been living at Casa Hogar since April 2009.  The Mexican government does not give any financial support, which means that they survive on donations alone. Luckily, they do have regular donators that donate monies, and others also donate food and clothing. Casa Hogar accepts all donations, and the items that cannot be used are sold at their frequent bazaars.  This way the community has the opportunity to purchase items at a great price and also provides additional income to the orphanage, as every little bit counts!

The Children of Casa Hogar
The children who are housed at Casa Hogar are “social” orphans. This means that the parents are either unwilling or unable to care for their children. Many times an older sibling is taking care of the younger children as the parents have either passed away, or abandoned them. In the past, the family would take in these children, but in Mexico, much like the United States and Canada, families have scattered across the country. So many times the family is not here to help, even if they were able.
Casa Hogar provides these children with good, clothing and shelter and to ensure that they attend school, giving them a home and as safe haven for as long as necessary.
Hopefully, when home situations improve they can return to their families, or can be placed in adoptive homes.

Donations
Donations are not just about monies, and although that is very important, you can also become a volunteer by applying and filling out a simple volunteer application. Come and play, read, or get creative with art and the children…whatever you would like to do, as these kids need all of the love and support we can give.
Please call or email to find out what time to come volunteer your time, as different needs are during the week, and Saturday and Sunday are open all day for volunteering. You can make a donation online at the website www.manosdeamor.com via PayPal with your bank or credit card, which makes it easy to donate!
Donations can also be made to this project and can be made by check, Mexican, American or Canadian. Please make your check payable to:

Manos de Amor pro Bahis, a.c.,
and mail to:
Casa Hogar Manos de Amor
Calle Rio Balsas y Rio Copostela
Colonia El Tule Dorado
Bucerias, Nayarit, Mexico
63732

You may call Hogar directly at 329-298-3680 and speak with Veronica (Vera), who is the main care- taker for all of the children, or you may also contact Nichole by email at: Casavaliene@gmail.com for more information.
The Next Fundraiser on April 15, 2012
The next fundraiser is a bazaar, so please bring your slightly used clothing to sell, or any other items that would sell easily. These children need help, and supporting by donating items to sell is a great way to help!
Where is Casa Hogar?
The orphanage is located at the corner of Rio Bolsas and Rio Compostela in Colonia Buenow Aries in Bucerias. To get to Casa Hogar, take Rio Colorado (the street directly across the highway from Billy’s Gym, (Mexican Marilyn Monroe) up about blocks. You will cross over the Canal. Go another three blocks.

On the right side corner you will see a house with swans on it, and on the telephone pole across from that, you will see a sign with a  red arrow directing you to Casa Hogar. Turn right at that corner. Go two blocks. On your left is a small tienda called Los Portrillos. Turn right there and the orphanage is one block on your left.  Look for the many signs with arrows posted along the way.

Here is Vera and the volunteer staff at Casa Hogar. They truly need your support how ever you choose to give it, whether is be monies, clothes, or donating your time and loving energies for the children. These kids deserve a good family, so you may want to help in that way as well! Thank you for all of your support!

Happy celebrating and many blessings!

Time to Celebrate!

Semana Santa all starts with a week long celebration on the Riviera Nayarit, with beaches filled with familia and friends, laughing and dancing until the early hours of the morning. The Mexicans really know how to have a lot of fun, as they love to play, and love to dance to the very loud music! One of the reasons the I adore the Mexican culture, is their sense for love for their family. Everyone from the very oldest to the little babies come to the different beach towns on the Riviera Nayarit to celebrate life. I love to watch them play, and dance to the brass bands on the beach, throw sand at each other and eat and party!  If you like Mexican culture, Easter week, or here in Mexico is known as Semana Santa,  is the time to come immerse yourself in the wonderful Mexican culture.

Holy Week

In the religion Christianity there is the last week of Lent, and the week before Easter. It also includes the religious holidays of Palm Sunday, Maudy Thursday or Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. It, however, does not include Easter Sunday. There are variations of the Christian Religion, and each day has a specific meaning, with certain rules. Easter Sunday, which immediately follows Holy Week, is the great feast day and apogee of the Christian liturgical year: on this day the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated.
Easter Sunday is the first day of the new season of the Great Fifty Days, Easter-tide, there being fifty days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday.

The starting point for Samena Santa’s extensive history is the death of Christ, but the celebration that we see today on the Riviera Nayarit in all of Mexico is the result of centuries of evolution.  And, on the Riviera Nayarit, it is one big party and celebration with live music going until 4:00AM and campers spread out over the beaches and filling the RV parks, bombs going off (something about the spirits) and fireworks. Everyone shares space and is quite friendly from my experiences. Its also a great way to practice your Spanish!
Its a fun time to dive into the Mexico culture as Mexicans come to the Riviera Nayarit from all over Mexico for their Semana Santa vacation. Here is Fanny selling yummy cakes and Fidel selling oysters on the playa.

Enjoy your Easter Celebration with love and joy in your hearts, and I’ll see you later on the Riviera Nayarit in beautiful Mexico.
